Dr. Louis is a Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon with Hinsdale Orthopaedics, in Hinsdale, Illinois.

Dr. Steven Louis is a fellowship-trained board certified orthopaedic surgeon. A graduate of Northwestern University Medical School, he specializes in the areas of orthopaedic trauma and joint replacement. His trauma sub-specialty focus is on emergent and reconstructive care for victims of high-energy accidents, which provides him with expertise and comfort in performing the minimally-invasive hip replacement from the direct anterior approach. Dr. Louis is one of the few orthopaedic surgeons in Illinois who performs this new patient-friendly technique for hip arthritis. Dr. Louis has performed over 1,200 Direct Anterior Hip replacement procedures in the past six years.  For his knee replacement patients he uses a customized system designed specifically for the patient’s own anatomy.

Dr. Louis is the Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL, a level-one trauma center. He also serves as the Chairman of the Operating Room Committee and Department Chairman of the Department of Surgery. He is an instructor for the Association for the Study of Internal Fixation (ASIF), clinical instructor at Loyola Medical Center and clinical instructor for the Direct Anterior Approach Total Hip Arthroplasty. Dr. Louis is also a clinical faculty member of the American Hip Institute. Dr. Louis dedicates considerable time to lecturing and to hands-on training of other physicians, medical students, nurses and allied health professionals.
